2 Interesting Google Hacks

This post is about refining your search results in Google using 2 interesting hacks. When doing a Google search, you can refine your search and eliminate a number of irrelevant search results by using the intitle: and intext: commands.

intitle: ‘intitle’ only looks for text that’s in the title of a webpage. In this case, title doesn’t mean the title on a page. It’s essentially the text between the <title> </title> tags in the HTML code of a web page. Therefore, lets assume you want to search for information on say ‘ Learn Java’, type intitle:”Learn Java” in the Google Searchbar or Searchbox. ( See figure below)

intext: ‘intext’ searches the body of the webpage for the text that you want to find. When intext: is specified in the search, Google ignores the text in any links or email addresses on the page, as well as the text in the page’s title. ( See figure below)
